CitiFix is not an official government app and does not represent any government entity. CitiFix is an independent, citizen-built platform designed to help users report civic issues and access publicly available contact information of authorities.

CitiFix is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any government or municipal authority. All authority contact details used in the app are sourced from official public government websites.

1. Information We Collect

• Name & Email: Used for authentication and account identification.
• Phone Number (Optional): Provided only if the user chooses.
• City / Locality: Used to route civic complaints.

2. Complaint Information

• Issue category and description
• Issue location (location of the civic issue, not the user’s address)
• Date and time of submission

3. Uploaded Images

When users choose to upload or capture photos while reporting a civic issue, these images are stored securely in Firebase Cloud Storage. Images are used solely as evidence to support issue reporting and resolution and are not used for advertising or marketing.

4. Voice Input (Optional)

CitiFix offers an optional speech-to-text feature to simplify complaint reporting. Voice input is used only to convert speech into text and is not recorded or stored.

5. How We Use Your Data

• Enable civic issue reporting
• Attach accurate issue location
• Route complaints to authorities
• Display status updates and responses
• Generate anonymized analytics

6. Use of Device Features

• Internet: Required for Firebase and server communication.
• Location: Used to tag reported civic issues.
• Photos & Storage: Used to upload or capture issue evidence.
• Microphone: Used only when voice-to-text is enabled by the user.

7. Email-Based Complaint Routing

CitiFix sends complaint emails to authorities on behalf of users using send-only email permission. CitiFix does not read or access the user’s email inbox. Authority replies are retrieved only from CitiFix’s official email account.

8. Data Storage & Security

• Authentication via Firebase Authentication
• User and complaint data stored in Firebase Firestore
• Images stored securely in Firebase Cloud Storage

Local Draft Storage

CitiFix may temporarily store unsent complaint drafts locally on the user’s device to support offline usage and prevent data loss. This draft data is stored only on the device and is not transmitted to our servers unless the user chooses to submit the complaint.

9. Data Sharing

CitiFix does not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Complaint details are shared only with relevant civic authorities for issue resolution.

10. Public Visibility of Complaints

Reported civic issues may appear in a public feed within the app to improve visibility and community engagement. Personal identifiers are never shown publicly.

11. Data Retention After Account Deletion

• All personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, user ID) are permanently deleted.
• Civic issues may be retained in an anonymized form for transparency and analytics.
• Issue location represents only the location of the issue, not the user.
• Uploaded images may be retained only with anonymized issues.

12. Children’s Privacy

CitiFix is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
